About us

Since the dawn of civilization, humans have gazed at the stars with wonder and curiosity. The mysteries of the cosmos have driven countless innovations and discoveries, and this thirst for knowledge continues to grow with each passing generation.

The Astronomy Club of IIT Kanpur, established in 1975, has been at the forefront of exploring the wonders of our cosmos to the campus community. The club’s mission is to inspire an interest in astronomy and nurture the curiosity of those already enthralled by it. Our annual flagship event is Astroventure, which marks one of the largest Astronomy fest across all IITs. Our signature events include night sky observation sessions, planetarium shows, workshops, competitions, talks, etc.. Major club assets include an Observatory, planetarium, range of telescopes, and a lot more.

The Astronomy Club is more than just a platform for exploring the cosmos; it’s a community where imagination, curiosity, and science come together to unlock the secrets of the universe. We invite all students to join us on this journey beyond the stars.
